October Drop in Housing Starts is Temporary
New and existing home sales jumped in October but starts fell before the announcement that the home buyer tax credit was being extended through April and expanded to include current homeowners. The housing market recovery will be back on track before yearend, says Reed Construction Data chief economist Jim Haughey.
